Directx problems with shared session

I have fully updated my onenote and it thinks I dont have directx
installed when i try to do a shared session. I know I have directx, in
fact I downloaded the latest version just in case (9.0c) and it still
thinks I dont have it. I tried reinstalling onenote but it still
doesnt work. I have wmp 10. What can I do?

What operating system and version do you have? Were you ever able to start a
shared session? Thanks.

xp pro, no have never been able to start it. My desktop does and so do
all my friends with onenote, but not this comp. I have no idea what is
causing this problem...

Do you get any errors or anything worth noting when you run DXdiag?

Click Start, Run, then type DXdiag and press Enter.

Look at the information on all of the tabs and run all of the tests.

Have you tried either a "Detect and Repair" or an uninstall/reinstall of
OneNote?

Well...certainly you've found a puzzling one. Have you looked in the Event
Viewer (Right-click My Computer and select Manage) to see if there are any
useful clues in there?
