Disable access to documents, risks and issues

J

Jose M. Dominguez

Hello:

I have disabled in the server configuration at the
administrator section all access to documents, issues and
risks (project web access 2003).

In the project centre I still can see the menu links for
collaboration which I would like to make dissapear, and
for project server users (without windows user accounts)
they are even able to access sharepoint from those links
(they remain enabled!).

Am I doing something wrong?
Is this a bug?

I will include documents, risks and issues in a later
stage of my epm development, that's why for the moment I
want to keep those features disabled.

Thank You
Jose

Where did you disable access to Documents, Risks, and Issues? Did you
follow these steps to totally diable these features:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click the Admin menu
3. Click the Server configuration link
4. Scroll the Features section, scroll to the Views section
5. Set the "View Risks, Issues, and Documents" option to DENY
6. Click the Save Changes button

Setting this option to Deny will deny the feature for everyone in the
system. Are these the steps you followed?

Hi Dale:

Yes, those steps you describe are the ones I followed.
Additionally I have disabled all collaboration features.

The links from the top bar have dissapeared as expected
but still I can get access to sharepoint with some users
from project center.

I will install the last microsoft fix patch to see if this
gets corrected, but I'm not sure if I'm doing something
wrong and is not really a bug problem.

Do you ahve any clue?

Thanks
José

I have the exact same problem. I believe this is because I had WSS and
automatic WSS site creation enabled after first installing PS2003. All the
WSS site for projects I published before disabling the automatic WSS site
creation can still be accessed from the "Go to workspace for this project"
link in under collaboration in the side pane.

Since I denied access to docs, issues, and risks, globablly, the side pane
links for these features opens a "you do not have access to this feature"
page. I would be nice to be able to get rid of the collaboration links on
the side pane. Otherwise, I will likely just delete the WSS sites that were
created before the automatic WSS site creation was disabled.
