1) In the article from the link (
http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2007/12/17/447750.aspx ), the author
discusses configuring Outlook to NOT sync (disable cache mode on this
folder) anything is a specific folder. I'm wondering if this then applies
to any subfolders, or subfolders added subsequently, to the previously
configured parent folder. Or does one have to configure each subfolder to
NOT sync?
2) Also, I wondering if a I have a folder structure that has been configured
to NOT sync, and I drag a cached folder, with subfolders, into the folder
that is configured to not sync, will the resulting folder inherit the parent
folder properties and subsequently stop syncing?
3) The author mentions that if you "If you already synced items to this
folder and want to clean them out of the OST, then you need to go back to
the Folder Properties General tab and click Clear Offline Items. This will
expunge already synced items from the folder based on your new policy. I
usually perform these steps on a newly created OST (to prevent the "archive
folder" syncs occurring in the first place)."
Does "expunged" mean that messages are deleted from the existing OST file,
but remain on the Exchange Server?
And last, I'm assuming I can do all this manually, without having to have
MRM (Messaging Records Management) policies in place and just move things
manually. Correct?
Thanks in advance!
