Disable Font Auto Scale

Does anyone know how to permanently disable Excel's annoying Auto Scale
setting for the text on charts? For every chart that I ever make I
always uncheck the Auto Scale box in the Format Chart Area or Format
Text Box dialogs. It would be nice if I could change Excel such that
the box is unchecked by default when creating a new chart.

I found an article on the web that described how to accomplish this on
a Windows PC, but I have not found an equivalent solution for Mac.

Hi,

You can change the default chart type. Search Excel help for "change the
default chart type" and you'll find a complete explanation of how to do it.

Thanks for the reply Jim. That works for the text that's part of the
chart (e.g., titles, axis labels, etc.), but what about for text boxes
that are added to the chart? I haven't been able to figure out a way
to change the default for text boxes. Do you know how to?
