Disable Printing in OneNote 2007?

Mari

Hi,

I'm very new to OneNote and have only ever used Word or Works before. I'm
an astrologer and whenever I attempt to print from the astrology program,
OneNote hijacks the operation and will only allow printing of it's own
(degraded) rendition of the charts I need. I've had to completely uninstall
and remove all traces of OneNote to be able to print anything from the other
program.

Ultimately I would like to use OneNote and be able to print from both
programs independently. Is there a way to that?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,
Mari

OK, that sounds easy... thanks very much!

I'm guessing that your default printer was accidentally set to the Print to
OneNote tool. I don't know what operating system you're using but if you go
into Control Panel | Printers you should be able to right click your regular
printer and select "Set as Default".

I have a similar problem. I am trying to print a pagemaker 6.5 document
and OneNote is hijacking the process. My default printer is set to my
Epson. But OneNote still takes over the process. I tried to deleter
the printer "Send to OneNote 2007" and my other printers would not
work. I am going to restore my Computer to before the delter. Is
there any way to disable One Note when using certain programs? Help!

I have a similar problem.

I don't know what ONENOTE is, and frankly, I don't want to know.
I used MS for 20 years. This 2007 is not "OFFICE". I'm glad I still have
MS2000 disks. I'm switching back tomorrow.
Anyway, I've been able to work with everything that Office 2007 has taken
from me for the past 2 months.

Today, all of the sudden, OneNote has hijacked my printouts as well. WTF?!?

Ben M. Schorr, MVP, THANKS for nothing, my default printer is still the same
and there is absolutely no way to un-install One Note or any other Office
item in 2007. Ok, maybe that's not true, but days ago, before Office 2007,
you could click add/remove programs and remove programs, now you can. If
some smartypants out there has figured it out, it's not the same. It's not
the same. It's not the same. If something is slower, takes longer, it is not
"improved".

I have no idea where you might have found this old thread which is not
available on the MS newsserver anymore and why you are addressing Ben M.
Schorr.
I have read your posting numerous times and was really reluctant to
reply because of its nasty ranting nature.

This for sure is really big mistake! said:

Good luck. You are punishing yourself.
Office 2007 has ways more to offer 10 years old Office 2000.

This is really strange. I can not recall to have ever heard of an issue
like that.

No sailor words, pleeeease.

Seriously wrong!!
One can remove any single Office application and/or any single part if
an applications.

Obviously you took a seriously wring route.
- Just open "Add or remove software from the Control Panel (or the
equivalent in Vista);
- mark Office or OneNote (in case the latter is listed separately);
- choose Repair;
- then choose "custom install,
- unselect all you do not want.

Unselecting the OneNote Printer will remove the unwanted item.
