Disable Read Pane in Outlook 2003

Hi All

I have been asked to disable the Outlook Preview Pane within Outlook. At
present we are using Outlook 2000, 2002 and 2003. I have been able to
disable the Preview Pane within Outlook 2000 and 2002, by using the following
registry keys;

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Outlook\DisabledCmdBarItemsList]
"TCID1"="5514"
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\DisabledCmdBarItemsList]
"TCID1"="5514"

This will be added into a custom ADM and applied to a GPO.

I am now having problems disabling the Read Pane within Outlook 2003, as I
can’t locate the Control Bar ID. What I would like to be able to do is to
use the same ADM to disable the Preview/Read pane across all three version of
Outlook.

I have tried to run the MS VBA scripts which Microsoft recommend but this
does not display the relevant ID.

Does any body know the ID ??? please help

Regards

have you looked in the office 2003 ORK?

why are you disabling it? The reading pane in those versions is as safe, if
not safer, than opening messages to read them and users should have the
choice of whether they want to use the reading pane or open messages to read
them.
