Disable spell check for sections of document?

Is there anyway to disable spell check for specific sections of a document.
For example I have some documentation that includes section with example
program code. I'd like to have spell check validate the majority of the
document but skip the program code.

Yes. Select the text, choose Tools > Language, check the "don't spell
check" checkbox. m.
