How can I turn off or disable updates for Visio? At random, a progess window
pops up and says that Visio is updating, then prompts to restart.

It just says Microsoft Visio is updating. It happens sometimes when I open
Outlook, Word, Excel, or Visio. Could it be because I am running Office
2002, Outlook 2003, and Visio 2007? Also I know What an "Autorefresh on a
datarecordset" is.

If it's happening on other office products then I would suspect that it
isn't unique to visio and you might examine something else, such as
microsoft update.

What I mean is, when I open Outlook or other Office programs, it pops up and
says it is configuring Visio. The actual message is:
"Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft Office Visio Professional
2007"
Then it runs for a minute and the next window says:
"The configuration made to Microsoft Office Visio Professional 2007 will not
take effect until your computer has been restarted. Would you like to
restart now?
I click yes, thinking it would restart and go away. It doesnt.

Hello,

This sounds like the problem described in the following KB article:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=925834

If so, the resolution is to install Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 2.

Let us know if this help.
