Disabled Functions

Last week MS Project failed to open correctly and I received an error message
asking me if I wanted to open in safe mode. I ignored since not sure what
this meant. Apparently my global template was corrupted and when I later
re-installed the app I went through option setup for views and formats.
However, two areas still do not function correctly (1) summary tasks do not
reflect the start / end dates of child tasks on existing schedules or new
schedules. Changes in durations are ignored (and there is no baseline). (2)
dependencies do not seem to work. I can add dependency to a task but appears
to have no effect.

Would appreciate assistance in reactivating these features. Thanks

Hello Don,

Is your calculation mode set to manual? Check Tools > Options
Calculation tab and ensure the mode is set to automatic.

Thanks Julie. That was a simple setting change. I thought default was
automatic recalc, but I guess not or it changed. Appreciate your help.
