Disabled Smart Tags but they still appear in MS Outlook 2003 ?

I have disabled Smart Tags in Ms Office, but when running Outlook 2003 smart
tags are still displaying. I have cleared all check boxes etc in MS word and
excel but in Outlook this is still underlined in pink, even though I've told
it not too.

Does it matter if the person who sent the email has smart tags activated ?
