Disabling autoformatting

How can I disable the autoformatting feature in Microsoft Word X for
Mac - Service Release 1? It's determined to make me use Times font --
and insists on putting capital letters where I don't want them. And
what it does to my outlining and margins is weird.

I know that there is a section called AutoCorrect, under Tools, but
even when I uncheck everything, Word still takes over the formatting.
Is there another place I should be using to disable this??

Thanks.

There are four tabs in the Tools | AutoCorrect dialog. Most of the
annoying options are in under the AutoFormat As You Type tab (including
applying numbered outlines). But the initial capitals is in the AutoCorrect
tab.

Font and margins are not controlled by AutoCorrect/AutoFormat, but are
settings in the Normal template, which is the basis for all new blank docs.
Change the margins in Format | Document, change the font in Format | Font.
If you want the change to stick for all new blank documents, click
Default... Instead of OK, in both dialogs.
