Disabling Events in An Automation Object

I'm opening Project 2000 from Access 2000 as an automation object using VBA.
The project file has it's own custom event coding that I don't want to run
while it's an automation object.

Is there a way to either disable the Project object's event from the VBA
code in Access or for Project to recogize that it's being "automated" from
another application and disable it's own event coding?

For anyone who is interested in the answer to this particular question, I was
eventually able to find that the property "Application.UserControl" is set to
"True" when the user launches the application, and "False" when the
application is launched by automation code.
