Disabling "Insert Item"

I'm a little lost here.

I have a WebService. My IP dataFields are bound to a dataset, populated via
"Run Query", sent as update via "Submit". DataSet includes table of data of
interest.

The only thing I can create on the form from this is a *repeating* section
(can't change it to non-repeating). But in fact I will only ever have one
row in the table, fetched in "Run Query", sent during "Submit", to update
*one* row. But form ends up with "Insert Item" link for user to insert new
row, which I do not want. So I try "Repeating Section Properties" so as to
uncheck "Allow users to insert and delete the sections" (that worked, I
think, before I had dataset involved) but it's disabled, so I can't!

I'm lost...

There's another option in the dialog to disable the "Show the insert button
and hint text." That should disable the link you want.

Thanks Brian. But I'm not that daft! That's greyed out too. Every single
control on the "Repeating Section Properties" dialog, "Data" tab, is disabled
(e.g. including "Rules..." button). Something to with using a
dataset/webservice?? Let's put it another way: under what circumstances
would this be the case?

If you read this, I would be *so* grateful if you could answer some of my
other posts here, above all the question about web services and session state
maintenance. InfoPath is great in many ways, but my goodness it's hard to
get the hang of for programming when you need to do anything beyond the
basics.

Sorry, just had to double check that there wasn't a simple answer. I can't
think of good reasons that those options are ever disabled; there shouldn't
be anything special about databases or web services. Hopefully someone else
has encountered that behavior.

As you can tell from my non-answer, there is a lot in InfoPath to know, and
we're always working on the blog and on the newsgroups to try and increase
the amount of information available to users. It's a new and feature-rich
product, and those make the job harder.
