Disabling macro warnings

Like some of the other users, I upgraded to Office XP and started getting an
error message every time I open and close Word:

Microsoft Visual Basic
The macros in this project are disabled. Please refer to the online help or
documentation of the host application to determine how to enable macros.

I am a novice and wouldn't know how to use a macro if it jumped up and bit
me, so I am not concerned with having them disabled, I just dont like getting
the message twice every time I use Word.

After reading the previous questions and answers, I have tried resetting my
macro security to medium (it use to be high) and I have told word to trust
all Templates and add-ins. This gets rid of the old "macros disabled"
message, but brings up instead a box where I have to choose whether to
disable or enable the WFWRD2K2.DOT in the start up file. I guess one message
is better than two, but is there a way to just open and close without
messages? I don't know what WFWRD2K2.DOT is, can I delete it from startup
without any problems starting?

The only thing listed under Templates and add-ins is WFWRD2K2.dot, which I
can unclick, BUT the remove button is grayed out, and everytime I reopen
word, the check is back in the box again.

Any suggestions?

WFWRD2K.DOT is a WinFax add-in for Word 2000. It doesn't work with Word
2002, so you will lose nothing by removing it. Since it is not being
"trusted," most likely it is in the Office Startup folder rather than Word's
Startup folder. Find that folder and delete (or move or rename) the file. If
you choose to rename it, be sure to change the file extension from .DOT to,
say, .DOG. Otherwise Word will still see it as a template and try to load
it.
