Disabling mail merge wizard

Doug Robbins - Word MVP - DELETE UPPERCASE CHARACT

From the View menu, select Toolbars and then check the Mail merge item and
the mailmerge toolbar will be displayed. The buttons on this toolbar give
you access to all the mailmerge features (and it is a lot more convenient to
use).

Well, almost all... No way to link up to Outlook by default.

This doesn't seem to work on Word 2000 - the mail merge toolbar doesn't
appear on the View | Toolbars list!

Hi Hkbs,

That's correct. The "Mail merge wizard" doesn't exist in Word 2000; it's
part of Word 2002/2003. So the information in this thread isn't
applicable to Word 2000.

For Word 2000 and earlier, you only have access to the Mail Merge Toolbar
if the document you are viewing is a main merge document. And that you
can only get by going over Tools/Mail Merge.

What you could do, however, if you really wanted mail merge functionality
on "just any toolbar" would be to pull the commands out of
Tools/Customize/Commands, category "All Commands".
