Disabling Project Server Emails

Hello,

What I am being tasked to do is write a work flow document on disabling
email's from project server 2003. I'm aware that users can configure
their alerts appropriately by filtering or setting the frequency but I
need to find out how to disable all of the emails from project server.
I know you can simply leave the SMTP server blank or put in a wrong
address, but I'd rather find a solution that will not fill up event
viewer with errors. Whats the best way to go about this? Thanks.

I've been reading around and one thing that I found says to delete all
values under "Admin->Customize Project Web Access->Notifications and
Reminders->Set default sender e-mail address and e-mail message". If I
do this and save the changes, will this effectively turn off the MSPS
emails and avoid event viewer errors? Is there any adverse affects to
doing this, other then emails not working? Thanks.

Since nobody else responded, I would recommend that you simply clear the
information on the Notifications and Reminders page in PWA. Since the
settings on that page enable the e-mail communication from Project Server,
clearing the settings will disable the e-mail communication. Hope this
helps.

Also try changing the workgroup for each resource to 'none' (workgroup is a
property of the resource when opened in the ERP).
