Disapearing Macro Button

Hiya

I have a template with a macro button placed on the menu bar. When I open
the template on my PC the button shows. When other users open the template
on their PCs the button is not there, they have to run the macro manually.

Does anyone have any ideas please.

Thanks very much for your time.

Hi Kerry

It sounds like the code is in your template, but the button has been saved
in your normal.dot.

I suggest that you first use Tools > Customize to remove the existing
button. Just to be sure it really is gone, exit Word, re-start Word, create
a test document from your template and confirm that the button is *not*
there. Then close this test document.

Now, use File > Open to open the template. At Tools > Customize, make sure
that the Save In box refers to your template. Create a new toolbar, and put
a (new) button on it to run the macro. Save your template. Make sure it
works. Distribute it to your users.

Hope this helps.

Hi Shauna
Thanks for your reply. I followed your steps to the letter but its still
not working on their PCs tho - most strange! Is there anything in word that
could be stopping toolbars or buttons showing?

Thanks

Hiya

The button shows for all users who do not have the Adobe PDF toolbar &
buttons. Thats interesting. Not sure what to do about it but at least we
know the pattern! Does anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks very much
