Disapearing text in a word doc within a form

I am using text fields and drop down menu's. I add data to both the text
fields & the drop down menu's. I then save and exit the template document.

Upon re opening all data added to the drop down menu is saved but the data
added to the text fields is lost & ???

(Also when I re open word for a split second I can see the data that was
added to the text field when I saved it, then it bizarrely disappears)

I have also tested the template document on a different pc with the same
version of office. (office xp) When I save the template on this pc all data
is still there upon re opening it. ????


This leads me to think its my ms word configuration setting?

I'm using Word 2002 (10.6838.6839) SP3
