Disappearing Calendars

We have an Exchange 5.5 Server and Outlook 2003 clients. When users select a shared calendar from the My Calendars pane, the calendar disappears from the list. If the user stops and restarts Outlook a few times, the calendar will reappear. Have any of you seen this before? Any idea what might cause this?
