Disappearing Controls on Forms

I've upsized an Access application to Sql linked tables. Since that time all the controls have disappeared on some forms. I can temporarily get them back if I switch to design mode view properties of the Form then switch back to form view then toggle the settings in Data Entry in the property window then the controls will reappear on the form. However the next time I open the form the controls will have dissapeared. Has any body else experianced this problem after upsizing or know of a solution I'd be deeply grafeful

Could it be that the linked tables have become nonupdatable due to the
absence of a primary key or a timestamp? What happens if you open the
tables underlying the erring forms directly, in datasheet view, from the
database window? Are they updatable? Can new records be added?
