Disappearing Date Navigator

I have a user whose Date Navigator disappears in Outlook 2000 Calendar whenever he moves to another folder. We know the drag technique (to drag the Date Navigator back on the screen from the TaskPad) and even that won't work because it disappears. How can I have the Date Navigator stay on the screen wherever the user goes
