disappearing document

Help!
I have been writing an assignment for the last few days, saving it
frequently, then tonight as I was working between it and another document it
disappeared and left me with a blank page. Where has it gone and can it be
retrieved?

I had a problem like yours, I'm running Vista and Office 2007, I was working
on a document and saved as a new file. Then I closed word and when I went to
open the document it wasn't where I saved it or in recent documents. I
searched the harddrive for it and still no luck. Any ideas?
