I am running Outlook 2003 on WinXP SP2.
I see the box pop up in the lower right-hand corner indicating that a
new message has arrived, but when I open my Inbox, the message is not
there. No matter which way I sort the messages, there are no new ones.
This is happening on a broader scale. I usually receive 50 or more
emails per day. This morning, when I opened Outlook, I apparently
received no messages, yet when I check the server (via webmail), there
are no messages there. The odds that I received no messages at all
this morning (and none so far today) are about a million to 1.
I do NOT have any junk mail filters in place. There are no new
messages in my Junk Mail folder. My deleted items folder is empty
also.
This happened once before. I have google desktop installed. It had
cached the missing emails. This is the proof that the emails did
arrive in Outlook, but then immediately vanished. Thanks to Google, I
was able to read some important correspondence, but this is very
scary.
Has anyone encountered this problem before? Any ideas what could be
causing it? Any ideas of how I could fix it?
Thanks for your suggestions and support.
