Disappearing Emails

I am new to this section.
It appears that Outlook 2003 is downloading my emails (especially those with
attachments) and either A) they pop in for a nano second or B) they disappear
altogether. They do not end up in the Anti Spam folder or the Junk email
folder.

Would anybody know where they might be and how can I stop this happening.
I have turned off my Anti Spam filter to see if that works - to no avail.

Have you verified your view is not set to see only unread messages? If you
have autopreview turned on, it would mark the emails as read. Click on View >
Current View and make sure that Messages is the one that's ticked and not
Unread Messages.
Let me know if that works.

However, having checked, the current view is on Messages.
Any more tips.
