I’ve noticed a problem in the past couple of days and I need to start
elminating causes. We have a small office setup using WinXP machines
and a WinXP (SP1) server. I bring in my Mac OSX10.3.9 Powerbook and
plug it into the LAN for miscellaneous tasks. Up to now, all seems to
have been well - I can see all the files on the server; open, save,
print and do all the usual stuff.
The problem is that some of the files on the server have simply
disappeared. The problem seems to be intermittent and random. It may
be a problem with the backup system (which is based on using Windows
synchronizing to copy files to external hard drives), but I need to
elminate the Mac as a possible source of the problem.
Is there any risk that the Mac is causing the WinXP server to delete
its files? Is there some way to check it?
