Disappearing files

HELP. I was using onenote on another computer then it crashed. I have a new
computer and re--installed OneNote. This time, it seems much more difficult
to use. I've spent hours organizing and working on folders, sections, etc
for an online class I'm taking and every time I go to open it after working
on it, my files are missing and I have to start over. This is extremely
frustrating. I'm talking HOURS of work gone. for no apparent reason. Does
anyone have a clue what is happening?

When it "crashed" did you get an error message? What version of OneNote -
did you have SP1? What operating system are you using? Have you checked
the hard drive on that machine for a My Notebook folder?

What seems "much more difficult" about the current installation you have?

I got a virus and lost everything. Had nothing to do with OneNote. OneNote
was just an unfortunate victim. I was running Office 2002 on XP with SP2
update. My new system came with Office 2003. The old machine is gone. The
problem has nothing to do with the old machine. The problem is every time I
spend hours working with OneNote on this new machine, I exit and shutdown.
Then I'll come back another day and nothing I've worked on is in my notebook.
On my old computer, I just did what I had to do and everything was there.
Everytime I opened OneNote, all of my work was there. I never had to save or
do anything. Just open and close. Now that's clearlly not working. I tried
using "save as" tonight so we'll see what happens tomorrow when I come back.
It's very frustrating. ALL of my files just disappear.

Have you searched your hard drive for .ONE files?
