Disappearing folders and sections

When I click the folder/section drop-down in the upper left-hand corner, or
click File/Open/Folder (or Section), some folders or sections are often
missing. If I use Explore, I can find them and open them, but they are not
assessible in the manner in which OneNote was designed. Any ideas on how to
correct this problem?

Many thanks.

There is no arrow to the left of the tabs. Space does not seem to be an issue.

Matt,
Did you try and move the folder into another location? If so, the folder
may have been placed within another folder. You will have to search for it,
and then arrow up to the 'parent' folder to find out where it may be hiding.
If it is hiding in another folder go to your main index where it lists your
folders, then open the one up that it is hiding in by clicking on the +.
From there you should be able to see where it is.
You can go back into that folder and "move" it to another location.
I had lost some of mine the same way.

Thanks dr hal, but that is not the problem. It is like the dialog box that
shows the folders and section that I can transfer a page to holds only the
most recent sections that I have accessed. For example, instead of showing
me all 6 sections in a folder, it shows me only 3. If I go to
file/open/section, I can see all 6. If I open the missing folder, it then
gets added to the dialog box. This is a lot of trouble for what is supposed
to be a simple transfer of pages.

Thanks again.

Have you been closing the sections by any chance?

Try this. Use File | Open | Section (several times) to open up each and
every section file found under your "My Notebook" folder.

After you can confirm that all of the sections are present, don't close
any of them (by right-clicking the section tab, then selecting "Close").

See if that keeps them in view.

Thanks. Tech support suggested this. I tried this and it did not work. I
will try again.
