DISAPPEARING FORMATTE FUNCTION

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or answers on why my
Formatting Pallette will disappear to the bottom of the screen when I
push on its command button. I will then click it again it is magically
flys back up to the formatting pallette button. If nobody know what is
going on then i just need another way to merge cells then. it is
driving me crazy

for another way:

Choose the Format/Cells.../Alignment and check the Merge Cells
checkbox.

HOWEVER, I strongly urge you to never merge cells. Merging cells
prevents some other operations from executing correctly, including
copying and pasting, or resizing entire rows or columns, auto- and
advanced filters, certain formatting commands, etc.

Many times cells are merged when using Format/Cells.../Alignment/Center
across selection would be more appropriate.
