Disappearing gridlines

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel

I cannot create additional horizontal gridlines. When I option click and drag, I get the little box that tells me where I am, but when I release the mouse button, the new gridline is not there.

BTW, I can create as many vertical gridlines as I want. This only seems to be a problem with the horizontal gridlines.

Several restarts and fixing permissions have had no effect. Help please!

With PPt not running go to User/Library/Preferences & remove the file:

com.microsoft.Powerpoint.plist

See if the problem is corrected when you launch the program. If so you can
delete the old Preferences file but you'll probably have to restore any PPt
Preferences settings you may have previously changed.

Thanks Bob. Unfortunately, that didn't solve the problem. Funny, I can see the new gridline until I release the button on the mouse, then the line disappears.

That's weird... What happens if you turn off the Snap To... Features? Any
difference? How about if you run the program from a different user account?

No difference if Snap to features are unchecked.

Tried it with a different user account, same issue. Tried it on another machine, works fine. Baffled.
