Disappearing inserts and JPEGS

I was always impressed (before) with the way one could slide in scans and JPEGS into Word documents and print them out.

However, since upgrading to Snow Leopard and Mac Office 2008, I can no longer do this. The scan/JPEG shows up in Print Layout and WEB layout but not in Outline or Draft and does not print out but leaves a gap.

It may be something really simple but has anyone met and overcome this problem.

Thanks

It is really simple: It's a setting you have made in your preferences.
Check in Word>Preferences>Print: make sure you have Drawing Objects switched
on. Damned nuisance: there's no sensible reason for that setting these
days: when would you ever want to print a document without its graphics :)

In Word 2008, the default is to insert pictures as "floating" (i.e. Anything
except "inline with text"). If you do that, they will not display in Draft
view.

Hope this helps
