Disappearing word files

We have noticed recently that some of our users are having Word 2004
(Office 2004 11.2.1) files "disappear" when they try to double-click
them off our fileserver. We are running ExtremeZ-IP 4.1 from
GroupLogic on top of our Windows 2003 server for AFP connectivity. I
have checked permissions and everything is fine. Trashing the share
and logging in again does seem to help. However I am wondering if this
is an Office network issue something similar to the reported issue with
going to save and getting the can't find network volume or incorrect
permissions error? Anyone else run into something similar or have any
feedback?

Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,

Speaking for the publisher of ExtremeZ-IP File Server v4.1, Group
Logic, this is not a problem that we've been hearing about.

I'd encourage you to open a tech support case by as our team can help
you get to the bottom of what you're users are reporting. Here's the

Actually, I'd reported this same issue to GroupLogic a couple months
ago. At the time, your tech support suggested upgrading to EZIP, which
we did, but which didn't solve the issue. A second tech then suggested
that we install the "Nudge" contextual menu extension
(http://www.brockerhoff.net/nudge/)--which is not feasible in our
environment.

I've been busy on other projects since, and had let this one slide, but
it's still dogging our users.
