Disappearing Word

I have word running on a WIN XP platform. Under the admin
login everything works fine, but if the main user logs in
Word will start, but the window immediately closes and
shots up to the top right of the screen and disappears.
The document is still sitting in the task bar but you
can't do anything with it, other than shut it down in task
manager. I have tried totally uninstalling it and then
reinstalling again, but the problem remains. Any ideas?

You've evidently got Word opening in a Normal window offscreen. Since you
can see where it's going, you can move it back. Right-click the Taskbar
button and choose Move, then press the left arrow key. That enables your
mouse to drag it into view. When it's onscreen, click the title bar to set
its position. You may want to reshape it with the mouse. Then quit Word.
When you restart Word, the window should be where you left it.
