Disappointments About Excel for MAC

Some of the features that are entrenched in the Windows version of
Excel were left off when Microsoft developed Office 2004 for MAC. F4
was the default shortcut key to make give a cell reference absolute
properties. From reading the Help in Excel 2004 for MAC, it sounds
like the $-signs have to be manually entered now.

- Has anyone found a comparable shortcut key to do make a cell
reference absolute?

add your discoveries that disappointed you.

Lots of folks. From Help ("Microsoft Excel keyboard shortcuts"):

CMD+T Toggle the formula reference style between
absolute, relative, and mixed

(And note that, since XL came out first on the Mac - before Windows,
much less WinXL - it's WinXL that introduced the incompatibility.)
