Disconnect from external database when creating a copy

I have a spreadsheet that is connected to an external Access database
and pulls information into the spreadsheet. I then have automatinc
emails that send the workbook to employees and makes a copy before
sending. However, the connection to the external database remais. Is
there any way to get the copy to disconnect?
