Disconnected from the network/STS

Hi every one,

Is it possible to configure the STS while the server is
disconnected from the network? We have a virus problem
going on and the Service pack we have is SP3 and I know
that STS may not work with SP3. But they dont want any
machine to be connected to the network that doesnt have
the patch applied (not even for a short time) so I was
wondering if it is possible to disconnect from the network
while configuring STS and then connect to the network and
install SP3?

Hi Anahita,

SP3 can be installed on the computer. The only reason for why you would not
be able to install STS w/SP3 is if SQL Server or IIS is on another box.

I would say go ahead and install SP3 on the box so it can go back on the
network and do your STS install after that.

Thanks for your reply. Actually the SQL * is * on another
box. Do you think I should still install it and see how it
goes?

Hi Anahita,

Go ahead and install SP3. The problems I've had are some pain-in-the-neck
SharePoint problems that can be addressed (if you run into them).
