Discrepencies between the OLAP Cube and the MS Plan

Hi,

Some discrepencies appeared in our environnement between the OLAP Cube and
the MS Plan.

Some actual work in the plan do not appear in the OLAP Cube views.

We ran SQL request on the MSproject server DB we noticed that some Actual
work are not the same depending on the table selected.

We have two separate SQL Statement:

1- Poinitng to the MSP_View table, which returns the exact same result than
the OLAP Cube (to be able to retreive the task detail)

2- Pointing to the actual project plan tables

So my question is:

How is the MSP_view tables built so that we do not get the same result than
waht is in the MSproject plan.

Thanks,
Nde

I assume that as you are looking at the MSP_View table you are using Project
Server 2003? The View tables are refreshed when you publish a project.

Hello,

You assumed correctly :)

The mew question is the following :

Correct me if I am wrong, bbut I think that when user accept the time, the
plan is saved but not published. So is there a way to "automatically" publish
plans saved on the server so the MSP_View tables are up to date with the
project plans ?

Thanks,

Hi,

No. Make this a training and process issue. Implementing Project Server to
good effect is all about people-process-tools.

We are having the same issues as you posted. We are unable to populate the
MSP_View tables, therefore, users are unable to view project via the web.
Can you give me any information on how to resolve this issue? We are
completely stuck. If I save the project plan to my hard drive first; then
publish to the server, you can view via the web. If we only publish users
cannot view via the Web. Sounds like a profile issue?, or a permission issue?
We are on MS Project Professional 2003 Enterprise. Thanks for any
suggestions or help.
