Discussion Board

I am trying to create a Discussion Board for our
intranet. There is an option on the first screen of the
setup that says "add to current web". Instructions say to
select this. I was told my the previous webmaster here
not to select this. What does this option do? I have 4
web sites running on this one server. I am only adding
the discussion board to one of the sites whose name I have
entered in the first field of the setup page that is
called, : "Specify the location of the new web". What are
the correct options to take? Also, does anyone know if an
email can be sent to all members of the discussion board
notifying them that a new post has been issued, or is this
application not that advanced?

The recommended location (if your host supports subwebs) is a subweb just for the DW under whichever root web you are working in
