Discussion web search

D

Dan Reid

It seems as though the search function in my wizard created discussion web
does not work. I have created test posts with various words. When I search
for any of these words the results are always negative. All other FP
functions seem to work fine. Like hit counters and form e-mail results.
Is this a typical problem for some web host providers? Or have I
misconfigured something?
Thanks for any help. Especially you, Thomas.

"No documents found. Please try again.
It may take several minutes for recently saved documents to appear in the
search"
Above is the message returned after searching for a particular word in a
FP2002 created discussion web. I am searching for a known word that does
exist.

Thanks Stefan... I just did that and continue to get the "No documents
found" message. I am searching for one word that has existed since yesterday
on this DW.

Open your DW online site in FP and run a Tools Recalculate Hyperlinks

If your site is hosted on Windows IIS, then your host needs to create or rebuild your Index Catalog.

OK, I'll look into that. Way back my host had problems with the FP
extensions corrupting. I don't know which version of Windows OS they use.
But all other special FP functions that I use that do require the extensions
do work.
I remember a trick that one could use to "ping" (wrong word) the server and
get back the OS versions. Are you aware of that app?

If your site is hosted on Windows IIS, then your host needs to create or
rebuild your Index Catalog.

Just open your site directly in FP on the server, then Tools | Web / Site setting
