Disk Cleanup not working after installing Office Pro 2003

B

Ben Hopson

After installing 2003 Pro I am unable to run Disk Cleanup in Windows XP Pro.
I can open disk cleanup and when prompted for the drive to clean I select C:
and it hangs right there at "compressing old files". After fifteen minutes
I cancelled out and then checked running processes. Clean exe was tying up
99% processor usage. I ended task and re-booted and tried again with same
results.

Any idea what is causing this?

Thanks a bunch,

Ben

You might want to post this as well in a Windows group as I am sure they are
far more familiar with the workings of the Windows Cleanup utility than we
are.

My only stab at this is to ask if you have any Office programs open when
trying this?
