disk full when publishing?

I've been updating my site for years now and suddenly when I click the
publish Icon, my password comes up it accepts it, it opens the server to my
site I click to save the index.html file and it starts saving. Then abrubtly
stops and says the disk is full only it's not saying my server is full it's
saying C://documents and settings/9B50E093.tmp is full. I'm not even saving
it to that location.

I'm not saving it to my computer at all. I'm saving it to my server. And
how could anywhere on my computer be full beyond a jump drive or disk?

This makes no sense. I updated my anti-virus as it said that might be the
cause and I restarted with no change.

I can't update http if I can't bypass this stupid error. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Which version of Publisher?
XP or Vista?
IE6 or IE7?
Do you automatically download and install MSFT patches?
Did you run the Design Checker?
Are you uploading via FTP or HTTP?
If you are using HTTP have you tested the FPSE to see if they are corrupt,
or reinstalled them?
Do you have a form on your site?
Have you emptied your IE cache, temp cache and reboot?
Can you connect to your host directly via Network places?
Did you work through the suggestions on this article: How to trouble-shoot
Publisher web upload issues :
http://msmvps.com/blogs/dbartosik/pages/80560.aspx

Sorry, at this point I have more questions than answers.

I looked at the troubleshooting article and did everything is said, but what
i didn't think was possible was the size of my website being at max for the
hosting. I deleted a page and compressed my images and it worked.

The last thing I did was add a giant tif. It must have taken me over the
top.

Good news!

Also, you can't use .tif files in a web page. Only jpg, gif and png. I would
suggest converting and optimizing the image in a third party image program,
and then inserting it. www.irfanview.com is a good freebie if you don't
already have one.

irfanview.com, have it. When you say can't what exactly does that mean?
They are in and working...

Publisher probably made a copy of the .tif in one of the formats that will
work. If you Publish to the Web and direct your output to your computer
where you can find the files, open the index_files folder, and view the
files in thumbnail view. You may find your tif file, but you will also find
a copy...or two, or that picture in another format.
