Disk or Network Error on Large Access Database

I get a Disk or Network Error when I try to connect to a MS Access 97
database that is running on a Windows 2000 Server Machine using a web
application that is running IIS 6 or IIS 5. The Database I'm trying to
connect to is running on a Local Network, I've noticed that the problem
occurrs when I'm connecting to a large database, on the Network server, It
works fine when the database is running local to IIS, however large it is. Is
there a way to get round this?

perhaps connection is too slow and timeout occurred?

Thanks for your prompt reply, our local network connection is 1Gbps,
therefore the. And the database size 460MB aprox. would this still be an
issue, at this speed. or is there a work around to ensure the connection will
not timeout.

Though the PC am connecting to that is holding the database has a connection
speed of aproximately 100MBps and the connection is via a local Network i.e.
\\<databaseserver>\<data>\data.mdb.

Yes the Disk or Network Error is on the web page from iis.

Hi, the problem I had with Disk Network error was unresolved I did realise
that asp.net 2 (I'm assuming ASP.NET 1.1 will also be ok with this) does not
have a problem with accessing large microsoft access database, so I assume
the problem lies with the way Classic asp when connecting to large database.

I did not manage to get around the problem we decided to put it on the same
server as the database for now.
