Display a Name in Transaction Form

How can I use DLookUp or other function in a Form to display data (say a
persons name) as soon as the person's ID is entered in the transaction form?

Or is their a different way to do this?

The general method is to use a combo box based on the person table. You can
choose to display the ID or the name or both.

A Combo Box allows choosing any name from persons table. I want only the
name of the person associated with his ID to appear. Eventually the ID will
be obtained from a barcode on a library card which will positively identify
the person.

Lock and Disable the combo box and set its control source to the ID field.
