display difference between 2007 and 2000

I have created a file in Excel 2007 that looks "nice and clean". When I open
the file in Excel 2000, the display completely changes. In v. 2007 I have
merged cells, for example, so the final merged cell has enough words to take
up two lines. When I open in v. 2000, the last couple of letters in the cell
wrap down to the third line, so the top of the first line is cut off on the
top. This is just one example of how the formatting has changed.

In v. 2007, the column width is 11 pixels, but when I open in v. 2000 the
column width is 10 pixels. I've tried to look into the pixel calculation,
but none of that is helping to explain the display difference in my case.

The odd thing is that both versions print the exact same thing. When I
print the file in v. 2000 it looks just like the printout from v. 2007. I do
not understand why the display on the screen is different. When I change the
pixel width in v. 2000 to 11 pixels, then the display on the screen matches
v. 2007, however the printout no longer matches - all of the information can
no longer fit onto one sheet.

Some people recommended changing the resolution, I already did this. I made
sure the resolution was the same on both computers.

I would like the diplay on the screen to match between both versions and I
want the printout to match between both versions.

Thank you so much, in advance, for helping!

Is your page zoom the same as your print zoom?
You can set your page to print 1 page wide by 23 pages long to make fit.
You can use a version specific macro to either set the look or the print.

This didn't seem to help. My page zoom and print zoom are the same, but they
don't display the same. Should I set them to be different?

Any other ideas?

Along the same line...In genereal, why is what I see on my screen not the
same as what is printed? For example, I see an entire word in one cell, but
then when it's printed it gets cut off at the end of the word?

Thank you!
