Is there a way to make Office applications display the document name before
the application name in the taskbar button?
For example if I minimize an Excel document named "spreadsheet 1" to the
taskbar, can I make the taskbar button display:
"spreadsheet 1 - Microsoft Excel"
Because right now it displays the application name first so in the instance
described above the taskbar button would read as follows:
"Microsoft Excel - spreadsheet1".
Which may not seem like a problem until you consider that the taskbar
buttons are only long enough to display 3 characters and and ellipsis past
the words "Microsfot Excel", so what you really end up seeing in the taskbar
is:
"Microsoft Excel - spr..."
If you are like me and need around 5-6 spreadsheets open at a time it is
quite difficult to determine which button corresponds with which spreadsheet
when all you can see of the file name is the first three letters. What is
really strange to me is that this is a problem peculiar to Microsoft Office
applications only, all other applications display the filename before the
application name when they are minimized to the taskbar. What is the logic
for this, and more importantly how do I correct this problem?
