I read through the postings about inserting PDF files as an object into
word/excel.
We came across a variant of it; in our test environment we are able to
insert a pdf object into word that gets displayed as an icon, but in our
production environment this gives the error " This object was created in
Acroexch. this application is not available to open this object." Tests with
a simple txt document give a similar error message.
In other words the "display as icon" option for the insert object / create
from file is not working.
In excel it says "cannot insert object".
So no matter what type of object I want to insert, I have the problem in
office.
Currently we use Office XP SP2 (10.5815.4219) in a W2003 TS environment.
Could someone have disabled the inserting of objects into Word ?
