Display menubar and toolbars?

I received a <.pps> file that opens as a slideshow (without menubar and
toolbars). I want to edit it, but I don't know how to open the file in the
Powerpoint application window.

Save the file to the hard drive of your computer. Start PowerPoint program,
click on File, Open (or Orb and Open for 2007) and drill down to the saved
file which should open in editable view.

Follow what LVTravel said, but open it as "New."

Sandy, I hope you mean for the OP to do a Save AS with a new name not
clicking on File, New as this won't do a thing for the OP. Otherwise,
please explain the benefit of having an open blank PPT presentation prior to
opening the PPS file.
