I have office XP professional installed on my computer. The formatting cell command does not give options to display negative numbers in parenthesis. The same option is available on my computer installed with XP home. Can somebody help me rectify this problem.

Thanks in anticipation

XP Home is the Windows OS. I don't know the reason but you can use custom
format

0.00_);(0.00)

will return negative numbers in parenthesis

This is a function of your Regional Settings in Windows OS.

Start>Settings>Control Panel>Regional and Language Settings>Regional
Options>Customize>Currency>Negative Currency Format. Click on drop-down arrow
and select the ($1.1)

Apply and OK>Apply your way out.
