display of layout guides in Publisher 2003

A

Andrea

Hello,
I'm working with Publisher 2003.
On a master page, I have background picture all over the page.
Therefore I can't see the layout guides anymore.
I help myself by creating another master page without the picture, then
align my text and graphics and afterwards I change to the correct master
page.
Is there a way I can spare this step and have the layout guides always in
the foreground ?

Thanks for your thoughts,
Andrea

You can turn off the picture by going to view, pictures, or click on your picture,
click on the color icon, select wash out. Once you are finished with your edits,
change the image back. (automatic)

The second option won't allow you to see the layout guides, although if you
change the transparency on the picture to 50%, then you will be able to see
the picture and the layout guides.

How do you set the picture to 50% transparency?

Insert an AutoShape, set the fill to the picture file, set the transparency
on the fill to 50%

Ahh, the ol' fill autoshape work around. Too bad it doesn't work with the
normal Insert > Picture though :-(
