display only records that meet my criteria

I am trying to create a macro that opens a form and displays a message box
if true
and only shows the records that meet my criteria if the condition is true
if no records match I want it to go to the next criteria in another form.

I am sorry, I can't quite imagine what you are trying to achieve here.
Can you pleae post back with soem more details? What does "if true"
mean. Maybe some examples would help.
