display output horizontally

Hello,

Anyone know how I can display the field results of a query or table on to a
report in a horizontal manner across the page rather than in the vertical
default manner. It would need to grow or shrink to elimante the gaps created
by the fixed length of the field or expand to display all the data in the
field. I've tried using a fixed number of colums in the report page setup
which will display across then down, but it is all fixed lengths and I end
up with gaps or truncated data. For example, my table includes a field of
children
names. I would like to create a directory of Families with Parent name above
then children names below
in a horizontal manner accross then down. I used a sub-report for the
children to display below the parents but it is too fixed and like I
mentioned it creates gaps or truncates the data.

Your help is greately appreciated.

What you need is to concatenate the text, samples of this
are provided by Duane Hookom, You can use the generic
concatenate function as the Value in the crosstab. The
